LIB_LOGOLife is Beautiful Festival celebrated a major milestone by announcing their official inaugural lineup at a private event held in Downtown Las Vegas last night. Hundreds of Downtowners were on hand, along with team members of booking partner Another Planet, executives from a number of Strip hotel properties, and executives and brand representatives from sponsor Wirtz Beverage Group. Also walking the event’s red carpet were members of Life is Beautiful Festival’s Culinary Board. Chefs Chris Cosentino, Rick Moonen, Jonathan Waxman, Hubert Keller, Bruce Bromberg, and Kim Canteenwalla were all on hand for the big reveal. The Dirty Hooks, Same Sex Mary, Rusty Maples, and Cosmic Suckerpunch performed followed by a special surprise performance by Youngblood Hawke.

The Life is Beautiful Festival team kicked off the weekend leading up to the big announcement by dropping off clues about the lineup at various media outlets around town. Friday evening, Aurelian Marketing Group CEO Rehan Choudhry emceed the Las Vegas Weekly music issue showcase and announced the first band to be named as part of the festival lineup—local garage rock quintet Same Sex Mary. Throughout the weekend, bands that will perform during the festival were “leaked” via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Among the leaks were Family of the Year, Haim, Portugal. The Man, Youngblood Hawke, and Dawes.

Headlining this year’s festival, which will take place on October 26th and 27th in Downtown Las Vegas, will be two locally grown acts—The Killers and Imagine Dragons. Also, headlining will be Grammy-winners Kings of Leon and Beck. Childish Gambino, Jurassic 5, Passion Pit, and many others round out the roster. The full lineup was announced via a video, which was produced in Downtown Las Vegas by Silver State Production Services, starring local model and actor, Gio Ott and a cast of hundreds of Downtown extras including, of course, a llama and a dancing unicorn.

On Wednesday, June 5th, Life is Beautiful Festival will host its latest installment of monthly Downtown Music Showcases. The event will take place at 7 p.m. at Beauty Bar, located at 517 Fremont Street. This month’s lineup will be Kid Meets Cougar, XNY, Trevor and the Joneses, Twin Brother, Cinemetric, and The Pax Trend. The lineup announcement video will also be played during the evening. The event is free and open to the public.

The week’s excitement culminates with the launch of Life is Beautiful Festival ticketing on Friday, June 7th. Tickets go on sale that morning at 10 a.m. PDT at lifeisbeautifulfestival.com.
